Flat, fast and a different kind of demanding
Murray Bridge sits on the river plain, so you're not constantly pulling away on slopes the way you are around Nairne or Mount Barker. What you get instead is open arterial roads, longer country runs, unsealed surfaces on the outskirts and wildlife that doesn't check for traffic. Higher speed limits mean bigger consequences for late decisions, so we spend time on observation distance, overtaking judgement and what to do when the surface changes under you.
The speed limit trap that catches learners out
Some arterial roads around here are posted at 110km/h. Your limit as a learner or P1 driver is not the sign. This is one of the most common sources of confusion I see, and it's the sort of thing that ends a test instantly, since any breach of road law is an immediate fail. We make sure you're clear on it well before test day.
Licensing admin locally
There's a Service SA centre at 19 Seventh Street, Murray Bridge 5253, open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Wednesday from 9:30am. As at Mount Barker, that's where the certificate of competency, completed log book and fee get lodged for your P1 licence, not where the test takes place.
